Halftime Report: Wizards 53, Knicks 42

NEW YORK -- Here are a few observations from halftime of the Knicks-Wizards first half.

Boos for J.R.: J.R. Smith's shooting struggles continue. He's 1-for-8 in the first half. He's missed three of his four 3-point attempts. After one miss in the second quarter, Smith heard boos from the Garden crowd for what may have been the first time in his Knicks tenure.

Smith has struggled mightily since returning from his five-game suspension and knee surgery. He entered play Monday averaging 10.4 points per game, significantly down from the 18.1 he scored per game last season.

Wall ball: The Knicks have their hands full with John Wall. Wall has 19 first-half points on 7-for-12 shooting, along with five assists and four rebounds. In short, he's had his way with the Knicks.

Pablo Prigioni has struggled to stay in front of Wall and challenge his shot. It will be interesting to see if Mike Woodson uses Iman Shumpert or Toure' Murry on Wall in the second half.

Stoudemire a step slow: Amar'e Stoudemire also wasn't sharp in the first half. He had two points on 1-for-7 shooting in ten minutes. This is Stoudemire's worst shooting game this month. He played four games in five nights last week for the first time this season and could be a bit fatigued.
