Knicks eyeing Clark and Jones

As we wait for more news to come out on Raymond Felton’s situation, the Knicks have some roster spots to fill as well.

ESPNNewYork.com's Ian Begley says the Knicks are talking to free agent Earl Clark and could sign him to fill one roster spot according to a source. That was first reported by Yahoo Sports.

And ESPN.com’s Marc Stein tweeted that the Knicks had Dahntay Jones in for a workout today. The Knicks have roster spots open after completing buyouts with Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih on Monday.

The Sixers waived Clark after acquiring the 6-10 forward in the Spencer Hawes' deal. Clark averaged 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 45 games with Cleveland prior to the trade.

Jones is a 10-year veteran who last played in Dallas last season. The 6-6 guard averaged 3.5 points in 2012-13 but is being looked at for his defense.

Mike Woodson told reporters on Monday that he thinks the Knicks need a guard to help the perimeter defense and a big man with Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin injured.
