NEW YORK -- Amar'e Stoudemire will not play Friday against Golden State as he rests on the second night of a back-to-back.
Head coach Mike Woodson said Stoudemire's knee is an issue.
"We knew this coming in this season, that we kind of slow-walked Amar’e into minutes," Woodson said. "It was tough on everybody. It was tough on him, and it was tough on us from a coaching standpoint, not knowing when he was going to play and monitoring minutes.
"We were able to gradually grow his minutes," Woodson continued. "And obviously his knee is bothering him a little bit, so we gotta be open-minded to that and play him when he’s ready to play."
Stoudemire had four points and three rebounds in 19 minutes on Thursday against Miami. The Knicks next play at Chicago on Sunday.
