NEW YORK -- Here’s what Knicks fans must be thinking: LeBron, if you love playing at MSG so much, why didn’t you just sign here in 2010?
LeBron James, four-time NBA MVP and two-time champion, spoke of his love of the World’s Most Famous Arena prior to Sunday’s All-Star Game there.
“It’s going to be the best All-Star Game for me, to be able to be in the Garden,” James said Friday. “I love my fans back in Cleveland. I loved my fans when I was in Miami. But if I could have 82 regular-season games in the Garden, you know I would, because it’s the mecca of basketball. You get a great feeling when you walk in there because there is so much history. It’s going to be fun.”
That’s not cool. It feels like King James is twisting the knife. Haven’t Knicks fans had to suffer enough?
James, of course, was courted by the Knicks in the summer of 2010 before inking a max contract with the Heat. He could’ve guaranteed himself 41 home dates at MSG per season. Oh well ...
New York has won a single playoff series since. But that’s not exactly anything to write home about.
