A source with knowledge of Chris Paul's thinking told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that Paul has not personally asked for a trade to the Knicks.
The source also said Paul is still weighing options for his next move.
Bucher notes that the source would neither confirm nor deny reports that stated a representative for Paul has told the Hornets he wants to be traded to the Knicks.
"He has not asked for a trade to the Knicks because he knows the Knicks don't have anything to offer," a source told Bucher. "He wouldn't insult the Hornets by doing that."
The source added: "At this time, he is weighing his options and deciding what the best thing to do is."
Paul can opt out of his contract and test free agency after this season.
A report Thursday from Yahoo! Sports claimed that Paul's representative told the Hornets that the point guard would not sign an extension and wants to be traded to New York. A subsequent report from the Times-Picayune stated that neither Paul nor his agent have requested a trade.
