There were plenty of NBA trade scenarios being reported on Thursday.
One had the Knicks sending Amare Stoudemire to the Hornets for Chris Paul.
Sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that as the Knicks closed in on a deal for Tyson Chandler, they considered the possibility of trading Stoudemire for Paul. This move would have reunited Paul with Chandler, his former teammate.
The Hornets were said to have little interest in the deal because Stoudemire's contract is not insurable due to his history of knee issues.
Stoudemire on Friday said that he never took the trade rumors seriously.
"I knew it wasn’t true so it didn’t really affect me at all," the Knicks forward said.
Mike D'Antoni told Stoudemire that there was no truth to the report.
"He was like, 'There is no way that’s happening,'" Stoudemire said. "I knew it wasn't true so it didn't bother me."
