Stoudemire makes big-screen debut

NEW YORK -- The first day of training camp yesterday marked another first for Amare Stoudemire. He made his major motion picture debut as a party dancer in "New Year's Eve," featuring a star-studded cast including Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher and Zac Efron.

Stoudemire said he filmed his brief scene last year after he got a call from a buddy that they were filming the movie in New York City, and the studio wanted him to be in it.

So any Oscar consideration? "Nah, not even close, man" (laughs), Stoudemire said. "I'm just known as 'the dancer.'"

STAT is not foreign to entertainment. He's already filmed a cameo for "Entourage," and in January he'll appear on an episode of "The Exes," in which he'll have, believe it or not, a kissing scene with actress Kristen Johnston, who plays Holly Brooks on the show.

Stoudemire may even become a Hollywood producer. It's been previously reported that he has been in discussions with Relativity Media mogul Ryan Kavanaugh to executive produce the horror flick "The Strangers 2," the sequel to the 2008 original.
