Knicks announce preseason schedule

The Knicks will spend the preseason mostly on the road, playing six of their seven games away from home.

They open the preseason schedule Oct. 9 against the Celtics in Providence, R.I. They'll finish it Oct. 25 at home against Patrick Ewing and the Charlotte Bobcats. Ewing is the associate head coach of the 'Cats under head coach Steve Clifford.

That game will be the first in the newly renovated Garden, as MSG's three-year transformation is expected to be completed by this date. The new facets in the Garden are expected to include two walking bridges suspended over the court.

The Knicks will also face the Wizards in Baltimore on Oct. 17, which will be a homecoming of sorts for Baltimore native Carmelo Anthony. (Yes, Anthony was born in Brooklyn, but he was raised in Baltimore). They will also play the Raptors on the road twice, giving Toronto fans a chance to greet their former No. 1 pick, Andrea Bargnani.
