Mets to remember Nelson Doubleday with moment of silence

ATLANTA -- The New York Mets will remember former owner Nelson Doubleday with a moment of silence next Friday, when the team returns to Citi Field to face the Cincinnati Reds.

Doubleday died Wednesday at age 81.

He owned the team from 1980 through 2002, when his partnership with co-owner Fred Wilpon bitterly ended.
