Brandon Nimmo poised to return after facial injury

NEW YORK -- New York Mets outfield prospect Brandon Nimmo was cleared to resume playing with Triple-A Las Vegas. Nimmo had been sidelined with a facial injury, which he suffered taking a baseball off his nose in a batting cage on Monday.

Nimmo, the Mets' first-round pick in 2011, is hitting .235 with one homer and five RBIs in 25 games since a promotion from Double-A Binghamton to the Pacific Coast League. He has a .369 on-base percentage.
