Ike Davis drove in Willie Harris with a broken-bat single with two outs in the fifth inning to give the Mets a 3-1 cushion over Washington. It was Davis’ tenth RBI of the season and has driven at least one run in eight of the Mets’ nine games.
Davis is currently tied with Ryan Howard for the National League lead in RBI.
He had a two-run triple in Saturday night’s 8-4 win over the Nationals, his second career triple (his first was on Aug. 25, 2010 against Florida).
Davis is hitting .375 after the fifth-inning single, including .364 with runners in scoring position.
He didn’t drive in a run on April 7, snapping a streak of five-straight games with an RBI.
