Terry Collins, who had suggested earlier in the week that reliever Bobby Parnell might be activated from the disabled list for this weekend's series in Houston, now says Parnell will not return until the next home stand.
Parnell made consecutive appearances for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday and Thursday, and surrendered a homer to Yankees prospect Jesus Montero with two inherited runners aboard in the second outing.
Collins said Mets officials have decided to have Parnell repeat throwing back-to-back days with the Bisons before bringing him back.
Parnell landed on the DL on April 21 with numbness in his right middle finger. Team doctors identified the cause as a clot and prescribed aspirin to thin the blood.
