“We’re not getting it done. I’m not getting it done. That’s the bottom line.,” said Rodriguez, who wound up earning his 22nd game finished in 2011 despite a dismal outing. “I just couldn’t make pitches when I needed to. This one’s on me. I gotta take the heat because I didn’t pitch to the level I’m supposed to be pitching at and it got away from me.”

Rodriguez has recorded 16 consecutive saves, but he’s now given up four runs in his last two appearances.

“I gotta be more aggressive and start getting done, there’s no excuses about it,” said Rodriguez, whose ERA now stands at 2.89.

The 29-year-old closer said he was still feeling some of the effects of the dental procedure he had on Wednesday to extract two of his teeth, but didn’t want to use that as an excuse.

“I didn’t get it done and I don’t wanna put excuses out there,” Rodriguez said. “I just gotta keep fighting and get it done.”
