David Wright doubled, walked and scored a run in his first minor league rehab start. In all, he played five innings for Class A St. Lucie on Friday night, finishing 1 for 2 with a strikeout.
Wright, who has been on the disabled list since May 18 with a stress fracture back, did not have a fielding chance.
Manager Terry Collins said Wright should get 30-40 minor league at-bats before his activation.
If all goes well, the Mets are hoping to have Wright before the end of the month. They have previously projected his return for July 22.
Wright was hitting just .226 with six homers and 18 RBI before landing on the disabled list.
