The Mets are telling teams they are willing to pick up Carlos Beltran's remaining salary, which would maximize the prospects returned in a trade, a source whose organization has discussed a deal with the organization tells ESPNNewYork.com.

"From what I gather, they are asking a lot for him because they are willing to pick up all of his salary," the source said.
Beltran missed a third straight game with the flu Monday.
"He was still sick last night at home. One more day it's gonna be," Terry Collins said. "He did say he felt better yesterday but we've got some news today that he's still a little bit under the weather. He's got a good case of it. I hope it doesn't spread because you know how that can go around the clubhouse."
