Jose Reyes led off the sixth inning a with a home run for Double-A Binghamton on Friday night.
Reyes finished 1-for-3 at the plate, grounding out in each of his other two at-bats. He played seven innings at shortstop, but was not tested.
Reyes is expected to play nine innings for Double-A Binghamton on Saturday. He'll have an off day Sunday, and barring any setbacks, will rejoin the Mets on Monday.
"Tonight, I think I feel like I played a game,” Reyes told Lynn Worthy of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin afterward. “Yesterday, you know, was kind of a tough night. I feel like I didn’t do anything. But tonight I was able to move around more, hit a groundball, run to first base with no problem, put a couple good swings on a couple of balls."
Terry Collins said Reyes will play in one of the two games of Monday's doubleheader against Florida.
