In his second rehab start since resuming action, Johan Santana allowed an unearned run on two hits while striking out one and walking one in three innings with Class A Savannah. Santana threw 39 pitches.
"I still have some work to do, but overall I feel like I'm making progress from one start to the other, and that's what we're looking for," Santana told Billy Byler of the Augusta Chronicle.
Added Santana to Byler: "The whole situation that is going on right now is I'm in rehab mode. I'm still not in regular season mode. The next couple of days are going to be imporant once I throw my bullpen and see what they want me to do, whether it's in the big leagues or in the minor leagues or instructional league. Whatever it is, we'll be ready for it, as long as we find ways to perform and get the strength back."
