New York Mets
Jose Reyes will sit out Thursday's matinee game against the Nationals as part of a scheduled day off, according to Mets manager Terry Collins. Collins did add that Reyes is available to pinch-hit and will play in each of three upcoming games against Atlanta.
Reyes is the National League's leading hitter with a .331 average and will look to become the first Met to ever win the batting title. He also leads the majors with 16 triples.
"Not to have him in your lineup when you're struggling offensively, yeah, it's hard not to put him in there," Collins said.
Reyes has been dealing with hamstring tightness since returning from his second stint on the disabled list.
