Game 4: Nats @ Mets

10:18 p.m.: One-two-three inning. Mets win, 8-2.

10:15 p.m: Jenrry Mejia makes his second major-league appearance, trying to hold a six-run lead in the ninth.

10:01 p.m.: Ruben Tejada gets his first major-league hit -- a single to center in the eighth off Tyler Walker. If he is getting demoted after the game, he has a souvenir.

9:47 p.m.: Jeff Francoeur has a two-homer game, too. It's Mets 6, Nats 2.

9:38 p.m.: David Wright goes into his home run trot after slugging a ball to left field. Only problem? It hits the top of the wall and stays in play.

9:18 p.m.: Rod Barajas goes deep for a second straight at-bat. It's Barajas' eighth multi-homer game of career, and first since Aug. 31, 2009 with Toronto at Texas. The last Met to homer twice in a game: David Wright last Sept. 12 against the Phillies.

9:13 p.m.: David Wright has a rough fielding day trying to backhand a grounder for the second straight game. This time, he misses a ball toward the line by Josh Willingham in the sixth, which is scored a double. Willingham advances to third base on Adam Kennedy's fly ball. Pudge Rodriguez then grounds out to Wright play in, forcing Willingham to hold. No. 8 hitter Ian Desmond then strikes out on a full-count, 91 mph fastball from Mike Pelfrey. Still 2-2.

8:36 p.m.: Stop the presses. Or whatever the internet equivalent is. Rod Barajas homers. That's two longballs in the same game for the Mets. Nats 2, Mets 2, bottom 4.

8:32 p.m.: Mike Pelfrey strands two runners in the fourth by retiring Nyjer Morgan on a grounder to second base, which Alex Cora fields with a dive to his left.

8:17 p.m.: How about an in-game update ... from Buffalo's game? Ike Davis, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles in his Triple-A debut, hits a mammoth blast to center field, midway up the batter's eye.

7:56 p.m.: Here come the trainers. Mike Pelfrey barehanded Nyjer Morgan's one-hop comebacker and threw to first. He'll remain in the game.

7:45 p.m.: Jeff Francoeur belts the second homer by a Met this season when he leads off the bottom of the second with a shot into the left-field stands.

7:41 p.m.: After a seven-pitch first inning, Mike Pelfrey runs into trouble in the second. Ian Desmond lines a two-run triple beyond the reach of fully extended Jason Bay in left field. Nats 2, Mets 0, middle 2.

7:30 p.m.: Jerry Manuel flipped Mike Jacobs and Jason Bay in the order. The result: After David Wright's two-out walk against Garrett Mock and Bay's infield single, Jacobs worked a full count, then popped out to first baseman Adam Dunn.

7:12 p.m.: Mike Pelfrey delivers his first 2010 pitch, a called strike to Nyjer Morgan.
