Right-hander Chris Schwinden has shown up at Citi Field and is on the Mets' taxi squad.
It basically means that baring something unforeseen, Schwinden will start on Friday in Colorado in place of Mike Pelfrey.
Schwinden, 25, is 2-2 with a 2.05 ERA in four starts for Triple-A Buffalo this season. In four September starts with the Mets last season, Schwinden went 0-2 with a 4.71 ERA.
