Collins: Duda adjusting, not ready to return

CINCINNATI -- Lucas Duda was sent to Triple-A Buffalo on July 24 to work on his batting stroke. He’s still working on a stance that will allow him to spread out a little more but he’s still not ready to come back up the big leagues, said manager Terry Collins.

"He’s having a little tough time adapting to that and feeling comfortable with that, which is certainly a natural process,” said Collins. “They say he’s swinging the bat much better than when he first got there.”

Duda started the season in right field and was hitting .241 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs at the time he was sent down. He had just 19 hits in his last 100 at-bats covering 29 games. In 16 games with the Bisons he’s hitting .258 with two home runs and six RBIs.
