PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Daniel Murphy returned to camp Wednesday morning, a day after being examined by team doctors in New York.
Murphy has yet to address the injury today, but a second source confirmed he received a cortisone shot in New York and that the diagnosis was consistent with the intercostal issue on his right side that preliminarily was diagnosed at camp. Ideally, Murphy would be sidelined only seven to 10 days.
UPDATE: The Mets confirmed Murphy received a cortisone shot in New York for the intercostal strain.
