Two-time Futures Game participant Wilmer Flores has been optioned to minor league camp.
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- The Mets have sent infield prospect Wilmer Flores as well as Josh Satin and right-handed reliever Carlos Torres to minor league camp. That leaves 42 players remaining in major league camp.
Travis d'Arnaud remains in major league camp, although he is expected to open the season at Triple-A Las Vegas. Any prospect on the 40-man roster who becomes injured in camp after this date would get major league service time and pay if the issue lingered into the season and a DL stint was required.
Flores, 21, hit .143 (3-for-21) with one RBI in Grapefruit League play.
Satin was 5-for-8 with five walks and three RBIs, but is not a member of the 40-man roster.
Torres, a former reliever with the Colorado Rockies, had an 8.44 ERA in 5 1/3 innings. He allowed nine hits and four walks and opposing batters hit .391 against him.
