Justin Turner's strained calf healed enough to avoid the DL.

Mets infielder Justin Turner (strained left calf) was deemed ready to open the season with the club. Turner being on the roster resulted in Zach Lutz getting dispatched to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Turner strained his calf Wednesday, putting his status for the season opener in question. Prior to that injury, Turner had been working his way back from a sprained right ankle. The utility infielder batted .269 with two homers and 19 RBIs in 94 games last year.

Lutz, 26, played in seven games last season. The Mets selected him in the fifth round in 2007.

Here's the Mets 25 man roster:

Catchers (2): John Buck, Anthony Recker

Infielders (5): Daniel Murphy, David Wright, Ike Davis, Ruben Tejada, Justin Turner

Outfielders (6): Jordany Valdespin, Collin Cowgill, Marlon Byrd, Lucas Duda, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Mike Baxter

Pitchers (12): Matt Harvey, Jeurys Familia, LaTroy Hawkins, Bobby Parnell, Jonathon Niese, Dillon Gee, Jeremy Hefner, Scott Rice, Greg Burke, Josh Edgin, Scott Atchison, Brandon Lyon
