BINGHAMTON 8, PORTLAND 6: The B-Mets put up a three-spot in the first inning, with Allan Dykstra hitting a three-run shot. In the second, Darrell Ceciliani stroked a three-run double, and Josh Rodriguez and Cory Vaughn both added RBI doubles. Starter Erik Goeddel labored through four innings in the no-decision. He allowed three runs on six hits. Jeff Walters collected his league-leading sixth save of the season with a perfect ninth. Box.
SAVANNAH 9, DELMARVA 3: Savannah scored nine unanswered runs to beat Delmarva. Trailing 3-1 heading to the bottom of the sixth, the Gnats (11-8) used five walks to score six times against the Birds' bullpen. DH Jeff Glenn began the inning by ripping a solo home run to bring the Gnats within a run at 3-2. 1B Jayce Boyd had a bases-loaded walk to force home the tying run. A batter later, Greg Pron drew another walk to give the Gnats a 4-3 lead. Louico then walked 3B Cole Frenzel to force in a third run in the inning. Glenn followed with a two-run single into left giving the Gnats a 7-3 lead. Savannah starter Matt Bowman kept the Shorebirds in check over six innings, allowing three runs on six hits to earn his third win. Box.
