ATLANTA -- The Mets will make up Saturday's postponement against the Atlanta Braves as part of a doubleheader during a June 17-20 visit to Turner Field, which now becomes a five-game series, Terry Collins said.
Collins said the doubleheader was preferable to losing another off-day this season. The Mets already have to make up two road games on off-days -- at the Colorado Rockies on June 27 and at the Minnesota Twins on Aug. 19.
The last time the Mets played a five-game series was Aug. 29-Sept 1, 2011 against the Marlins at Citi Field. That series also included a doubleheader.
