NEW YORK -- Ruben Tejada, who landed on the disabled list May 30 with a right quadriceps strain, is fielding grounders in Port St. Lucie, Fla., without moving laterally. Tejada also is running on a submerged treadmill, but clearly has several steps to go before returning to the Mets.
"Just balls at him right now," Terry Collins said. "That's the program. They've got him running and doing some stuff in the pool, and some stretching things. They haven't got him running on the field yet. But he's certainly making some progress."
