BINGHAMTON 4, ALTOONA 2: Rhyne Hughes drew the first of two consecutive bases-loaded walks for the eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Binghamton Mets defeated the Altoona Curve, 4-2. The game began on Monday night, but was postponed after five outs were made. The Curve took a 2-0 lead in the third inning against Darin Gorski. That score held until the bottom of the fifth. Blake Forsythe hit a line drive over the left center-field wall to cut the deficit to 2-1. Closer Jeff Walters pitched a perfect ninth to record his league-leading 21st save of the season. Gorski (2-0) earned the win after throwing five innings of relief. The lefty gave up two runs on five hits in the win. Box

SAVANNAH 9, HICKORY 2: Hickory pounded Savannah on Tuesday night. Hickory exploded for four runs in the seventh to take a 6-1 lead, and then added three in the ninth. Savannah starter Gabriel Ynoa gave up four runs in 6 2/3 innings. Relievers Julian Hilario and Wanel Mesa gave up five runs in a 2 1/3 innings of relief. Brandon Nimmo and Albert Cordero had the RBIs for Savannah. Box

STATEN ISLAND 5, BROOKLYN 2: The Yankees jumped on the Cyclones in the first inning and didn’t look back. The Cyclones would go on to lose 5-2, the team’s fourth straight loss. John Gant struggled right off the bat, giving up a three-run homer in the first. The Yanks would score another run in the bottom of the third and another in the sixth. Brooklyn scored two in the seventh on a single by Anthony Chavez and an error. Box
