New York Mets
Reliever Manny Acosta was dispatched to Los Angeles from Triple-A Buffalo because of the Mets' 14-inning game Wednesday in Arizona, an organizational source said. Acosta was not activated for Thursday's series opener. But Jerry Manuel acknowledged before the Dodger Stadium opener that help could be needed from the minors if Hisanori Takahashi had a short outing and the bullpen was further taxed.
Acosta was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 12 appearances for the Mets earlier this season.
