FIRST PITCH: Deep-sea fishing hasn't gone well for Matt Harvey this season.
The Marlins continued to give Harvey fits as they defeated him 3-0 on Thursday. Harvey is winless in four starts against the Marlins this year, and the Mets are now 5-10 on the season against the NL East cellar-dwellers after splitting a four-game set.
Friday, the Mets open a three-game set at home against the red-hot Royals, winners of eight straight.
Friday's news reports:
• Terry Collins said he trusts that David Wright isn't concealing a major hamstring injury and playing when he shouldn't be. Wright grabbed his hamstring several times Wednesday night on the basepaths.
BIRTHDAYS: Former Mets reliever Dae-Sung Koo turns 44. Koo pitched in 33 games in 2005 for the Mets, pitching to a 3.91 ERA.
