Harang pleased, despite long balls

NEW YORK -- Aaron Harang only surrendered four hits in six innings in his Mets debut, but three left the ballpark for solo homers. So Harang suffered the loss, in what became a 7-2 defeat against the Washington Nationals on Thursday afternoon.

"Two of them were just bad pitches," Harang said.

As for his overall performance (6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 10 K), Harang said: "I felt good with throwing some of my pitches. I threw some good cutters, curveballs for strikeouts. I was getting them to chase the slider and was able to move the ball back and forth. Besides the two mistake pitches I felt really good about my day."
