CINCINNATI -- The Mets’ starting pitcher for Sunday’s regular-season finale, which normally would be Jonathon Niese’s turn, was listed as “TBA” in the team’s media notes for Tuesday’s matchup with the Reds.
That didn’t necessarily mean Niese, Tuesday’s starter at Cincinnati, wouldn’t start at Citi Field, manager Terry Collins said before Tuesday’s game.
“We don’t know yet,” he said.
Nor he could pinpoint what would help make a decision.
“A lot of factors,” Collins said. "How he feels. Different things.”
If not Niese, then who?
“Don’t know,” he responded, glancing down at the papers scattered on his desk. “We’ve got 12 choices. We’ll find somebody.”
