Jose Reyes is now removed two full seasons from the Mets, but he continues to have an attachment to Long Island. In fact, Reyes completed the purchase of a $4.2 million home in Old Brookville on Thursday, Newsday reported.
Writes Valerie Kellogg:
The property's 3.51-acre size was among the features that attracted Reyes, shortstop for the Toronto Blue Jays, says Shawn Elliott of Shawn Elliott Luxury Home & Estates. Lisa Paladino, an agent with the firm, both listed the home and represented Reyes in the transaction. Reyes was also drawn to the master bedroom suite and its large closets as well as the fact that the house has two family rooms, Elliott says.
And there was something else. "He loved the gym," says Elliott. "It's like the kind you'd find at Equinox."
The basement where it's located has a spa and sauna, wine cellar and wet bar.
