9:18 p.m.: Francisco Rodriguez goes for a five-out save. Johan Santana departs with 1-0 lead, two runners on base and one out in the eighth.

8:42 p.m.: Jeff Francoeur, poised for a diminished role with Fernando Martinez promoted, goes opposite field for a solo homer to lead off the seventh. 1-0 Mets.

8:37 p.m.: Johan Santana loses no-hit bid with two out in the sixth inning on single up the middle by Placido Polanco. Raul Ibanez advances to second base. Ibanez struck out with two out but reached first on a wild pitch. Scoreless through six, though, after Mike Sweeney grounds out.

8:30 p.m.: The Mets strand a runner in scoring position for the third straight inning and fourth time in the game when a one-out double by Carlos Beltran in the sixth is followed by David Wright striking out and Mike Hessman's flyout.

8:20 p.m.: Johan Santana has held the Phillies hitless through five innings.

8:01 p.m.: Mets waste leadoff double by Angel Pagan in the fourth. He's stranded after Carlos Beltran and David Wright strike out and Mike Hessman flies out. Beltran threw his helmet in the dugout after being called out on strikes.

7:47 p.m.: Ruben Tejada may not hit much, but he can field. He charges Wilson Valdez's leadoff bunt in the bottom of the third and makes a hurried throw to first base in time to retire the ex-Met.
