Colon, EY Jr. have early ailments too

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- In addition to Jonathon Niese getting dispatched to New York for an MRI on his painful shoulder, two other integral Mets are dealing with injuries, Terry Collins said.

Bartolo Colon is experiencing tightness in a calf and Eric Young Jr. has tightness in a side.

"He said he was fine," Collins said about Young. "He actually did extra work yesterday. But this time of camp, you just take precautions and make sure they don't push it too hard.

"So I just told Bartolo this morning, 'Hey, look, stay in and get some treatment.' He rode the bike all morning. He did all the stuff he always does. I just wanted to get him off his feet. And Eric wanted to be out there. I just said, 'You're going to play this weekend. Let's get ready for the weekend.'"
