JUPITER, Fla. -- With Ruben Tejada and Wilfredo Tovar dealing with short-term hamstring issues, Terry Collins indicated Omar Quintanilla would be his starting shortstop Monday at ESPN's Wide World of Sports against the Atlanta Braves.
Collins added that Wilmer Flores likely would be the second-half substitute.
Flores actually finished Sunday's game at shortstop after starting at second base. The last time he had played shortstop in a game for the Mets came on Sept. 3, 2011 with Class A St. Lucie. After that season, the Mets decided his range was not sufficient and moved him to other infield positions.
Collins said Tejada, who was only experiencing tightness in the left hamstring, should return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday.
