Mets say Farnsworth health OK

NEW YORK -- Although Kyle Farnsworth was briefly hunched over in the tunnel to the clubhouse and shaking his forearm postgame after converting Monday's save, the Mets say the newly installed closer actually is "fine."

The 38-year-old Farnsworth willingly had acknowledged flexing his forearm after his first save since succeeding Jose Valverde as closer, but suggested that merely was a sign of being "old."

Farnsworth may be unavailable anyway on Tuesday night, when the series resumes against the St. Louis Cardinals. But that only would be due to being used and warming up too frequently of late, according to the Mets.
