Gonzalez had been pulled early from a start with shoulder tightness last month. He has continued to get treatment on it, Nats manager Matt Williams told D.C. reporters. And although Gonzalez has not missed a start, he has been pounded for 12 runs in 7 1/3 innings over his past two outings.
Asked twice about his shoulder health postgame Saturday, Gonzalez talked around it and suggested his arm slot is too low, leading D.C. reporters to speculate it is uncomfortable to raise the arm higher. Gonzalez did huddle with a trainer after the game, the D.C. reporters noted.
