Plawecki promoted to Las Vegas

NEW YORK -- On the day Kevin Plawecki officially was named to the Futures Game, the catcher received another piece of good news: He's headed to Vegas.

Plawecki, 23, was promoted to Triple-A after Tuesday's Double-A Binghamton game. He hit .326 with six homers and 43 RBIs in 224 at-bats with the B-Mets.

Plawecki was selected 35th overall in 2012 out of Purdue with a compensation pick for the Mets losing Jose Reyes as a free agent to the Miami Marlins.
