NEW YORK -- Sandy Alderson essentially acknowledged the Mets have no intention of switching affiliates within the Pacific Coast league. So with Rochester officially re-upping with the Minnesota Twins in the International League, it looks like the Mets will continue to be affiliated with Las Vegas for Triple-A through the 2016 season.
The original two-year agreement between the Mets and Vegas is set to expire.
“We’ve been happy in Las Vegas,” Alderson said Tuesday afternoon. “Some of the distance issues and so forth notwithstanding, we really have had a good relationship there. We haven’t had a lot of problems getting players here or wherever we may be because of the frequency of flights. So there are some positives there.”
