Nets round out coaching staff

The Nets have officially reached an agreement in principle with assistants P.J. Carlesimo and Mario Elie to join Avery Johnson's coaching staff, the team tweeted from its official account Tuesday morning.

Elie had been seen in the Nets practice facility on the first day of workouts last Friday.

The 48-year-old Elie, a three-time NBA champion, has previously served as an assistant in both Dallas and Sacramento.

The 62-year-old Carlesimo, a long-time NBA coach and assistant, is no stranger to the area. He coached at Seton Hall from 1982-94, and led the Pirates to the NCAA Championship game in 1989 when they lost to Michigan State in overtime.

Chris Hunt, who is kindly filling in for me this afternoon, will have more on this later. Johnson has been addressing the media since 11 a.m.
