The Nets are in negotiations with free agent small forward DeShawn Stevenson, but have not yet agreed to terms, sources told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein.
SI.com reported that the Nets are close with Stevenson on a one-year deal, but sources cautioned to Stein that it's not done.
A source told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard that there are still other teams in the hunt for Stevenson's services. It is unknown at this point, though, what other teams are interested.
The 30-year-old Stevenson won a championship with the Mavericks last season.
The 6-foot-5, 218 pounder owns career averages of 7.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game over 11 NBA seasons.
