Williams, Humphries will play

UPDATE: MarShon Brooks will not play. Anthony Morrow will start at shooting guard in his place. The team says Brooks is day to day.

Nets point guard Deron Williams (sore ribs) and power forward Kris Humphries (sprained left shoulder) will play on Friday in Toronto, the team confirmed on its official Twitter account.

Williams sat out New Jersey's 89-70 loss in Boston on Wednesday night. He was injured in the second quarter of Monday's 108-94 loss to Indiana.

Humphries has missed the last two games. He received a cortisone shot in his left shoulder to ease the pain.

Both players practiced Thursday.

Small forward Damion James (sore right foot) will miss Friday night's game in Toronto, the team announced. Coach Avery Johnson told reporters in Toronto that James will be examined by doctors Saturday and will likely undergo an MRI. He broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot last season.

Rookie shooting guard MarShon Brooks (sprained left ankle) will be a game-time decision. Veteran DeShawn Stevenson will start in place of James.

Both players were injured late in the first half of Wednesday night's loss in Boston.
