Harris: "We're ready to roll"

When ESPN's NBA cast gave their Nets' season predictions, some alluded to how Devin Harris' relationship with Avery Johnson was key to the Nets' success, especially after rumors swirled around Harris being included in a deal for Carmelo Anthony. Well, with the team tipping off tomorrow night against the Pistons and trade talks at a standstill, all signs show Harris is ready to move on from the trade speculation (The Washington Post). "That's over and done with," Harris said. "I am just focused on the present right now. There are other things we can control. Obviously it won't be the last time we hear it, but I am just focused on getting this team off to a good start ... We're ready to roll."

What should be more music to Harris' ears is Anthony's intention to stay in Denver. On NBA TV today, Anthony said that although he hasn't signed the team's proposed $65 million contract extension in order to keep his options open, he's "excited to be here" and "so focused right now on the Nuggets."

Speaking of Harris, he helped raise $75,000 through his charity organization, 34 Ways to Assist, for Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand, a graduate of Colonia High School (Colonia, N.J.), who was paralyzed from the neck down during a recent game against Army.
