Nets to sign Green to a second 10-day deal

Nets GM Billy King told reporters in Miami on Tuesday that the team will sign small forward Gerald Green to a second 10-day contract. Green's first 10-day deal was set to expire on Thursday.

In three games with the Nets, Green is averaging 7.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 20.7 minutes on 52.6 percent shooting. He's given the Nets some much-needed speed, athleticism and finishing ability at the 3 spot.

After his second 10-day expires, the Nets must decide if they want to keep Green for the rest of the season or let him go.

Prior to signing with the Nets, the 26-year-old had been trying to resurrect his career in the D-League.
