No discipline expected for Burrows

There is not expected to be any supplementary discipline for Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows for Tuesday night's hit on New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh.

Burrow was assessed a major elbowing penalty after crushing McDonagh into the boards with less than a minute remaining in the Rangers' 3-1 win over the Canucks.

McDonagh, wincing in pain, subsequently left the ice favoring his left arm. After the game, reporters saw the 24-year-old wearing a sling, though a team spokesperson characterized the injury as "not serious."

McDonagh required no further evaluation Wednesday, the spokesman said, and was expected to make the trip with the team to Colorado.

The Rangers wrap up a four-game road trip with a game Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche. It is not immediately known whether McDonagh, the team's top defenseman averaging almost 25 minutes a night, will be available to play.
