A-Rod with a bomb and a double

Alex Rodriguez continues to make the ball explode off his bat.

On Saturday, A-Rod nailed a first inning RBI-double and a mammoth sixth inning solo shot. He now has 1,833 RBIs in his career, which is one shy of David Winfield at 15th on the all-time list. His first homer of the year was his 614th of his career, moving him just 16 behind his former teammate, Ken Griffey Jr., for fifth all-time.

From the warmth of Florida to the cold of the Bronx, A-Rod is picking up where he left off in spring.

“We like it cold,” Rodriguez said. “We are at home. Anytime we are at home we feel like we have a great advantage whether it is cold or whether it is hot. The good news for us is that 1-through-9 everyone is swinging the bat well and putting up runs.”
