Jeter gets No. 2,963, ties Sam Crawford

With a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning on Thursday night, Derek Jeter now has 2,963 career hits. That ties him with Sam Crawford for 29th on Major League Baseball's all-time hit list.

Crawford, nicknamed "Wahoo Sam," played 19 major league seasons for the Cincinnati Reds and the Detroit Tigers, from 1899 to 1917. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Veteran's Committee in 1957.

Jeter snapped an 0-for-9 stretch with the single up the middle against Kansas City starter Sean O'Sullivan.
