Yankee lineup: Swisher out, Dickerson in

Nick Swisher, mired in a season-long slump, gets the day off Sunday against Mike Pelfrey. In his place in right field is Chris Dickerson. Dickerson entered Saturday’s game in the eighth inning as a defensive replacement, three days after he was hit in the head by a Mike Gonzalez fastball.

He was taken to the hospital and said a CT scan showed a concussion, but the test results were otherwise normal. Dickerson said he had headaches for a few days, but no longer has any lingering effects.

Dickerson says his impact test was reviewed Friday and he was examined by a neurologist, who cleared him to play. Then, the test results were sent to Major League Baseball, which also gave him an OK.

Swisher has had a tough time at the plate in 2011. He’s hitting .214 with two homers and 19 RBI. He was optimistic entering the weekend after thought he’d found a hitch in his swing prior to Thursday’s game. But he’s 0-for-6 in the Subway Series and has six hits in his last 29 at-bats.

Also, Jorge Posada (.178 BA) returns to the lineup after a night off on Saturday against lefty Chris Capuano. Francisco Cervelli is behind the plate, giving Russell Martin the day off.
