Curtis Granderson hit his 21st homer of the season, tying Jose Bautista for the major-league lead.
His power surge in 2011 is in stark contrast to his struggles in 2010. He hit homer No. 21 on Sept. 21 last season.
Granderson can thank Kevin Long for the power surge this year.
Granderson struggled mightily last season until an August hitting tutorial with Long.
Since then, he’s hit 35 homers, the second-highest total over that span behind Bautista, who had 39 entering play Tuesday.
Granderson’s blast on Tuesday drove in Brett Gardner, who hit an infield single and swiped his 100th career bag.
